Trim 2025 Is Born!
The Triumph & The Triumph …… TRIM 2025 Official Launch in association with Mahons Recycling
Mission, Trim 2025 was officially launched at Trim GAA Centre on Friday, December 4th, 2009 by Minister Noel Dempsey TD, who voiced his support for the initiative, both as citizen of Trim and TD. Martin Tighe of Trim 2025 outlined the project to media and guests alike, while Cllr. Trevor Golden on behalf of Trim Town Council also voiced support for the project. The launch was timed to coincide with the Copenhagen Climate Talks, while Trim 2025 encourages everyone to leave messages of hope on Hopenhagen … or send a greeting to the UN here
Following the official launch, it fell to expert economist; David McWilliams to inspire the ensemble with his speech before fielding questions and listening to local opinion for over 45 minutes! All this took place in the midst of an arts and photograph exhibition by the Haggard Arts Group, The Castle Art Group and local photographers, Danny O’ Brien (see interesting takes on Trim 2025), John Burke, Enda Casey & Tom Bulmer, while the music photography exhibition from Hard Working Class Heroes 2009 was also projected!
Later in the evening, the launch concert kicked off as Kathy Crinion, Gerry Tully, guerilla rock legends, The Sauce Warriors, The DLS and Meteor Award winners Ham Sandwich, set the 500-strong crowd alight in anticipation of the incredible Magic Numbers. Romeo, Angela, Sean & Michele steped on-stage and looked so much at home in Trim GAA Centre it was unbelievable! A full set, which featured a few new tracks delighted the audience who found it hard to believe that The Magic Numbers were among them!
Later, local DJ, Johnny Pluse received an award from Trim 2025 for his achievements behind the decks before he brought the proceedings to a close with the help of Breakonomics (RTE Pulse).
